Your data

Account & data deletion

You can permanently delete your FrenXa account and the personal data associated with it. This page explains exactly what happens, how long it takes, and the alternatives if you only need a break.

Last updated: August 13, 2026 · Google Play / App Store disclosure

Account deletion is permanent. After processing completes, your profile, content and social data cannot be restored. If you only need a pause, consider deactivating your account instead.

What “delete my account” means

Deleting your FrenXa account asks us to remove your account identity and the personal data tied to it from active systems. That is different from:

  • Deleting a single post, reel, story or message (content-level delete)
  • Moving content to Trash (soft delete with a restore window for some content types)
  • Deactivating your account (temporary hide or pause without a permanent wipe)
  • Turning off location sharing or notifications (privacy controls, not account removal)

Before you delete — checklist

Take a few minutes to avoid losing something you still need:

  • Save any photos, videos or files you want to keep — FrenXa cannot restore them after deletion completes
  • Note any business profile details or contacts you may need offline
  • Cancel or manage App Store / Google Play subscriptions separately if you have an active paid plan
  • Understand that coin balances and purchase history are handled under store rules and generally cannot be transferred or refunded solely because you delete the account
  • If you share devices, sign out of FrenXa on other phones or browsers after you start deletion
  • If the issue is privacy or unwanted contact, try blocking, reporting or deactivating first

Alternatives to permanent deletion

Many people only need a quieter account or less visibility:

  • Deactivate Account — temporarily hide your presence without wiping everything (Profile → Settings → Account Actions → Deactivate Account)
  • Privacy & location controls — turn off Live Map and Nearby sharing, tighten who can find or message you
  • Notification controls — reduce alerts without leaving FrenXa
  • Block / report — stop unwanted interactions without deleting your own account
  • Delete specific content — remove posts, reels, stories or chats you no longer want public

Method 1 — Delete in the FrenXa app (recommended)

This is the fastest path because you are already signed in, so we do not need extra verification steps.

  • Open FrenXa and sign in with the account you want to delete.
  • Go to Profile → Settings and open Account Actions.
  • Choose Delete Account. Read the on-screen warning listing what you will lose.
  • Confirm with “Delete permanently” on the final warning dialog.
  • You are signed out and deletion processing begins for that account.

In the app, FrenXa states that deletion typically processes within about 24 hours for social data. Backup rotation can take longer.

Method 2 — Email request (if you cannot open the app)

Use this path when you lost access to your device, cannot complete OTP sign-in, or the in-app flow is unavailable. Email privacy@frenxa.com or support@frenxa.com.

  • Use the subject: Account Deletion Request – [your username]
  • Include your FrenXa username and registered phone number
  • Provide a reachable contact email so we can verify ownership
  • Do not send passwords, OTP codes or full payment card numbers
  • We may ask follow-up questions to confirm you control the account before deleting it

What is deleted

When account deletion completes, FrenXa removes or anonymises the following from active systems:

  • Profile identity — name, username/handle, bio, profile photo and account settings
  • Authentication material tied to the account (phone-based sign-in for that user)
  • Social graph — friends and follower relationships associated with your account
  • User content you created — posts, reels, stories/status and related media you uploaded
  • Messaging data associated with your account — chats and media you sent (other participants may still see their own copies or device caches in some cases)
  • Call history metadata tied to your account (participants, timestamps, duration)
  • Business profiles you own and related business listing data
  • Location-sharing state and push notification tokens (FCM) for your devices
  • Local app caches on devices where you signed in

Deletion at a glance

DataOn deletionNotes

What may remain for a limited time (or outside FrenXa)

  • Security, abuse-prevention or audit logs may be retained briefly for safety and fraud prevention, then removed or kept only in anonymised form
  • Infrastructure backups may retain residual copies until normal backup rotation finishes
  • Messages or media already downloaded, forwarded or screenshotted by other people are outside FrenXa’s control
  • Apple App Store and Google Play keep their own purchase and subscription records under their policies
  • If we receive a valid legal request, we may retain specific records as required by law

What other users may notice

  • Your profile stops appearing as an active FrenXa account
  • You disappear from nearby and map discovery once sharing and account data are cleared
  • Conversations with you may show as unavailable or missing your side of the history
  • Content you previously shared may disappear from feeds after deletion processing
  • People you blocked or reported are not notified that you deleted your account

Expected timeline

Exact timing can vary with network conditions and verification steps. Based on the in-app deletion experience and our support process:

  • In-app deletion — you are signed out and processing begins immediately; the product indicates social data wipe typically within about 24 hours
  • During early processing — if you can still sign in, doing so may cancel an in-progress deletion (use only if you change your mind)
  • Email requests — we aim to verify and process within 7 business days after we can confirm account ownership
  • Backup residual copies — may take additional time to fully age out of backup systems

Trash vs account deletion

FrenXa includes a Trash flow for some content, so moving an item to Trash is not the same as closing your account.

  • Trash — item-level soft delete with a restore window for supported content types
  • Account deletion — closes the whole account and removes personal account data from active systems

How we verify email deletion requests

To protect users from malicious deletion requests, support may ask you to confirm details only the account holder would know, such as:

  • The registered phone number used for OTP sign-in
  • Approximate account creation details or recent device activity you remember
  • A reply from the contact email you listed on your request

After deletion — creating a new account

  • You may be able to register again later with a phone number, subject to product and abuse-prevention rules
  • A new account starts empty — old friends, chats, coins and content do not carry over
  • Usernames from deleted accounts may not become immediately reusable

Deletion questions

Can I undo account deletion?

Once deletion fully completes, it cannot be undone. Early in the processing window, signing back in may cancel an in-progress deletion. After completion you must create a new account if you return.

Will deleting my account cancel my subscription?

Not automatically. If you purchased a subscription through Apple or Google, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

What happens to my coins?

Coin balances are tied to your account and are lost when the account is deleted. Coins have no cash value outside FrenXa and are generally non-refundable.

Will the people I chatted with still see our messages?

Messages are removed from your account records, but other participants may still have their own copies or local device caches in some cases.

Can I reuse my username later?

Usernames from deleted accounts may not become immediately reusable. A new account also starts empty — friends, chats, coins and content do not carry over.
